Welcome to Norwich Union Healthcare – Get Active in order to take advantage of the discounted health and fitness club membership you will need to complete the following steps. We recommend that you print this information and save it for future reference. This website, the offers and the conclusion of the contract are only available in English.

1. Contract Status

1.1 Please note, in completing this process you will be applying for and entering into a legally binding contract with the health and fitness club of your choice which may include conditions such as a minimum duration of membership. The terms and conditions relating to membership vary from club to club. You can read the terms and conditions for any club by clicking through to the relevant club page.

1.2 CAUTION: if you are already a member of a health club, please check your terms of membership before progressing with this application. Applying for membership via this website will not cancel or terminate your existing membership; you will need to take steps to do this yourself before progressing with an application through this site. Early termination of your current gym membership may result in penalty charges, neither Norwich Union Healthcare nor any other Norwich Union company will be liable for such charges.

2. Norwich Union’s role

2.1 Any contract that you enter into will be between you and the health and fitness club you have chosen. Neither Norwich Union Healthcare nor any other Norwich Union company will be a party to that contract. Norwich Union Healthcare’s role in this process is to facilitate an introduction between you and your chosen health and fitness club. In assisting you with this introduction NUHC nor any other NU company makes any representation expressly or implied, that the businesses and companies stated in this website are of a particular nature or standard and are suitable for your purposes and does not constitute a recommendation, referral or otherwise. Neither Norwich Union Healthcare, nor any other Norwich Union company, will be liable to you for any costs, charges or losses sustained or incurred by you which arise either: directly or indirectly from your use of this site; or your contractual relationship with your chosen health club; or both..

3. Eligibility

3.1 To be eligible to take up the health club offers available on this site you must:

(a) hold, or have the benefit of, an in force, relevant Norwich Union product for which you have been issued a Gym Reference Code; and

(b) be over 18.

4. Locate potential health club(s)

4.1 There are a number of health and fitness club offers available on this site. Please identify the health and fitness club(s) in the location you would like to attend and take some time to review the facilities and discounts available and that health and fitness club’s terms and conditions.

5. Gym Reference Code

5.1 To find out more information regarding the clubs in your area, all you need to do is insert your Gym Reference Code. Your Gym Reference Code is the 6 digit code that appears in your policy literature.  

6. Choose your health and fitness club

6.1 Once you have settled on the health and fitness club that you would like to join go back to that page and click on the “buy” button.

7. Insert your details

7.1 A form will then appear on screen which you need to complete. This form captures your personal details such as: name; address; date of birth etc and is the initial stage of the registration process. Once completed click on the “submit” button.

8. Health and fitness club terms and conditions

8.1 The terms and conditions applicable to your contract with that health and fitness club will appear on screen. Please take time to review them and ensure that you understand them. Please print them off and file them or save them to your computer. When you are ready to proceed please click the “I accept” button.

9. Review summary details

9.1 A page will then appear on screen which summarises your details and the health club that you have selected to join. Please take a moment to review this information.

9.2 If there are any errors in this information please use the back buttons to return to the relevant pages and re-key your details.

9.3 When you are happy that the summary screen is correct please click the “confirm” button.

10. Payment Monthly Fees

10.1 Please complete your bank details as requested. This information will be validated and forwarded to your chosen health and fitness club who will use it to pre populate a Direct Debit mandate which you will be asked to sign when you attend your induction.

10.2 Once you have attended the club and signed a Direct Debit mandate, a direct debit will be set up to your nominated account from which your chosen health and fitness club will take your monthly payments.

10.3 To complete your application to your chosen health and fitness club you are required to make an initial payment via this website.

Initial Payment

10.5 For all other clubs, you will be direct to the Paypal website to pay the first month or first two months health and fitness club fees (this varies from club to club) together with any admin / joining fee applicable.

10.6 Please follow the instructions as they appear on screen.

10.7 Once you have completed the instructions a summary page will appear for your review and confirmation.

10.8 When you have completed this stage, Paypal will send you an email to confirm your transaction.

10.9 Please note at this stage you will only be paying your first months or first two month’s fees. Your chosen health and fitness club will require you to complete a direct debit mandate when you visit the club for your ongoing payments.

10.10 You will then be redirected back to the Norwich Union Healthcare Get Active website

11. Completion and Cooling Off

11.1 Upon redirection back to the Norwich Union Healthcare – Get Active website the page will confirm that you have completed the application process and a confirmation email will be sent to you by Norwich Union Healthcare.

11.2 Please note you will now have entered into a legally binding contract for membership of the health and fitness club of your choice. Norwich Union will not retain a copy of the contract. It is your responsibility to retain all relevant documentation. Your membership will come into effect the day after you sign up to the service and you have the right to change your mind and cancel your membership within 7 working days, provided you have not already started to use the club (“Cooling Off Period”). If you have attended an induction or used the gym facilities (or both) during the Cooling Off Period, your right to cancel your membership will be forfeit.

11.3 If you decide to cancel any money you have already paid during the Cooling Off Period will be refunded.

11.4 If you decide to cancel your application, you must notify your health and fitness club in writing or by email and, if completed, you will need to notify your bank to cancel the direct debit.

11.5 If you do not cancel your application during the Cooling Off Period you will be contractually bound to your health and fitness club for the duration of your membership as set out in your health and fitness club’s terms and conditions.
